Airless paint spraying is an increasingly popular choice for professional painters across the globe, but it’s North America where it seems to be the most valued. According to a recent industry report, that region accounts for approximately 34% of the global market.

That’s a not too shabby chunk, and it’s understandable to see why painters like this method. When the conditions are right, airless spraying offers the most consistent finish, especially on larger jobs.

But does airless spraying hold the same appeal for painters who are dealing with smaller or more intricate jobs?

Elements like trims, baseboards and stair balusters can sometimes make setting up, masking and cleaning an airless feel like overkill, causing a major time burden.

Does that lack of fine control for detailed work often impact upon the time taken on a project?

The Ice Fusion rollers can offer that bridge between the large and intimate, which might inspire your airless evangelist to put down the gun and opt for a more traditional – and ultimately time-saving – approach to the job in hand.

The key feature of the Ice Fusion roller covers is they offer the closest to a spray finish you can achieve with a roller cover. This is not a careless claim made to shift as many units as possible – we believe that Ice Fusion stands up to scrutiny and offers that attractive alternative to airless.
Below are two which may appeal most for anyone tackling those smaller projects.

4″ Ice Fusion Roller Covers 1/2″ nap (also available in Gloss)

Featuring ProDec’s exclusive Fused Fibre Technology – our version of a special sauce – this makes the fabric semi-elastic and slightly spongey to the touch, giving ultra-smooth contact and release that allows for a virtually flawless spray-like finish.

What’s more, the lint-free 1/2″ nap can be used straight from the bag, with no pre-wash required. The packaging also includes the bonus feature of an airtight snap close that enables you to keep paint wet until required again, whether later in the day, overnight or even longer.

2″ Ice Fusion Micro Roller Covers

Equipped with the same finish quality of its larger sibling, at just 2” wide the micro rollers are all about tackling those awkward surfaces which would require a much more time-consuming, stop-start effort with the airless.

Painters report that once they try micro rollers, they’re finding uses for them in all kinds of situations, making them useful to keep handy as a problem solver.

Worth a roll?

As much as airless spraying offers job economy, rollers can give a great workaround when it comes to those jobs that aren’t all just wide areas.

While rollers could never offer the same coverage speed for those who work exclusively with airless sprayers, the 2” roller, for instance, could be just the thing for a quick, neat little bit of touch-up work.

Or what about an external job where you need to get things done but windy conditions makes re-spraying with the airless an impossible task?

Ice Fusion could be the time-efficient solution you didn’t even know you needed.
